HIM Director

Los Angeles Area Near the Beach!

Base Salary $130,000 – $150,000 DOE

Outstanding opportunity to direct the HIM function of this leading acute care facility with over 300 beds.  The facility is located near the beach which offers an excellent Southern California lifestyle.

As a key member of Hospital Management you will plan, develop and direct health information management consistent with the standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies.  Responsible to oversee the development and implementation of policies & procedures for documenting, storing, and retrieving information and for processing information requests consistent with Federal, State and local statutes.  

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management.
• Five (5) years supervisory experience in the Health Information Management Department in an Acute Care Hospital setting.
• Knowledge of the Joint Commission Information Management Standards.
• Previous experience with The Joint Commission Survey process.
• Must be able to effectively manage a minimum of forty (40) employees.
